San Francisco hosted the 25th annual Edwardian Ball this past weekend—Edwardian as in Edward Gorey the fantastical author and illustrator, as opposed to the English era. It was a place for people watching, a host to surreal and interactive art (including animated taxidermy and performances by circus artists I’m starting to recognize!), and an evening for the Burning Man types to enjoy a much cushier setting—the Regency Ballroom. After years of hearing the hype, it was a pleasure to finally gown up and experience the Edwardian Ball first hand.
